Skilled workers who are ready to be sponsored.

Migration Star introduces Australian employers to candidates who have asked to be considered for the Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa and other employer-sponsored pathways. Any migration work is done by a Registered Migration Agent under a written agreement that sets out the work and the fee before it starts.

  • Honest about obligationsWe tell you what sponsoring involves before you commit, not after.
The problem we solve

Finding a qualified worker is hard. Finding one you can sponsor is harder.

Many employers find a worker first and only then ask whether that person can be sponsored. Here, every candidate has asked to be considered for sponsorship, and the migration work is done by a Registered Migration Agent from day one.

Who we are, and who we are not

Migration Star is a registered migration agency. We are not a recruitment agency or a labour hire company. We do not select staff for you, set employment terms, or act as anyone's employer.

Our role is to introduce employers to candidates who have asked to be considered for sponsorship, and to provide immigration assistance to whichever party engages us. If both an employer and a candidate wish to engage us for the same application, we explain how that works and obtain each party's informed consent before acting for both.

How it works

From the board to a sponsored worker

Four steps. You stay in control of who you hire and on what terms.

01

Browse the board

Every card is a real candidate who has asked to be considered for employer sponsorship. Cards show occupation, experience, country, location and visa status. No names, no contact details.

02

Tell us who interests you

Send us the reference numbers of the cards you want to know more about, or tell us the role you need to fill and we will check the register for you.

03

Meet the candidate

With the candidate's consent we share their CV and arrange an interview. You decide whether to make an offer. We are not involved in your hiring decision or your employment terms.

04

We prepare the applications

If you decide to sponsor, we assess eligibility, advise on the occupation list, salary and labour market testing, and prepare the sponsorship, nomination and visa applications under a written agreement.

The occupations in this filter are those of candidates currently on this board. They are not a list of the occupations Migration Star works with. If you are looking for a different occupation, please contact us.

Details are as declared by the candidate and verified only to the extent stated. Eligibility for sponsorship depends on the employer, the position and the candidate meeting the requirements of the Migration Regulations at the time of application. Profiles appear only with the candidate's consent and show no name or contact details. Migration Star does not guarantee any introduction, offer of employment or visa outcome.

Our fees, in plain terms

How our fees work

Professional fees are charged only for migration work you ask us to do, and are quoted in writing first.

Professional fees apply

Quoted in writing first
  • Employer eligibility and sponsorship advice under a written consultation agreement
  • Preparing a Standard Business Sponsorship application
  • Preparing a nomination, including labour market testing evidence
  • Preparing the candidate's visa application
  • Advice on Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) and regional pathways
Professional fees are charged only for migration assistance under a written agreement that sets out the work and the fee before any work starts. Employers meet their own sponsorship costs, including the Skilling Australians Fund levy, nomination and sponsorship application charges, and any costs the Migration Regulations require the sponsor to bear. These costs cannot be recovered from the visa applicant, and we will not prepare an application on that basis.
Before you sponsor

Know the obligations

Sponsoring a worker on a Skills in Demand (subclass 482) visa means your business becomes an approved Standard Business Sponsor and takes on obligations that are monitored by the Department of Home Affairs. In summary:

A lawful, active business

Your business must be lawfully operating in Australia and able to show it is actively trading.

An eligible occupation

The position must match an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list and be a genuine, full-time role.

Market salary and income threshold

You must pay at least the market salary rate for the role and meet the applicable income threshold.

Labour market testing

In most cases the role must be advertised locally in the prescribed way before you nominate.

Skilling Australians Fund levy

A levy is payable at nomination and cannot be passed on to the worker in any form.

Records and notifications

Sponsors must keep records, cooperate with monitoring and notify the Department of certain changes.

The candidate must hold the required skills, experience and English level and meet health and character requirements. We explain each of these when we advise you, so you can decide with a clear picture. Thresholds and requirements change; the figures that apply to your nomination are confirmed at the time of advice.

Need someone we do not have yet?

Post a position through us

Tell us the role, location and the experience you need. We can list the position on our platform and social channels and put suitable registrations in front of you as they come in.

How we advertise

Any advertisement will name Migration Star as the migration agency acting for you, state the position and salary range, and follow the labour market testing advertising requirements so that it can be relied on if you later nominate.

Applicants respond to us, register on our candidate board with their consent, and are introduced to you only once they have agreed to that introduction.

Employer questions

What employers ask us first

Are the candidate details verified?
Candidates register with us and consent to an anonymised profile being shown. The details on a card are declared by the candidate and are not independently verified unless the card says so. We do not verify employment references, and hiring decisions remain yours.
Can I hire the candidate without using Migration Star for the visa?
Yes. There is no obligation and no fee if you decide to use another agent or lawyer, or to handle the application yourself.
Can the candidate pay for the sponsorship instead of us?
No. The Migration Act and Regulations prohibit a sponsor from recovering sponsorship costs, including the Skilling Australians Fund levy, from a visa applicant, and prohibit asking for or receiving a benefit in return for sponsorship. We will not be involved in any arrangement of that kind.
How long does the sponsorship process take?
It depends on whether your business is already an approved sponsor, whether labour market testing has been done, and the candidate's circumstances. We give you a realistic timeline when we advise you, rather than a headline figure here.
Is the candidate's identity protected?
Yes. The board shows no names, photographs or contact details. Full details are shared only after the candidate agrees to be introduced to your business specifically.
