Postgraduate study in New Zealand, organised properly
We work with universities and institutes across Auckland, Wellington and both islands. We help you shortlist programmes, prepare your application and manage your offer, and we tell you early if the numbers do not work.
What we do, and what we do not do
For New Zealand, Migration Star acts as an education agent. We help you choose a programme and institution, prepare and lodge your admission application, and work with the institution until you have an offer.
We do not hold direct agreements with every New Zealand institution. We apply through established master agent arrangements in the international education sector.
We are not licensed immigration advisers for New Zealand. Our registration with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority covers Australian visas. New Zealand student visa requirements are set by Immigration New Zealand, and advice on a New Zealand visa application should come from the institution's international office or a New Zealand licensed immigration adviser.
Nothing on this page is a promise of admission or of a visa. Institutions make their own admission decisions and Immigration New Zealand makes its own visa decisions.

Recognised qualifications
New Zealand qualifications sit under a national framework and are widely recognised by employers internationally.
Shorter masters programmes
Many taught masters programmes run between one and two years depending on the field and your prior study, which can reduce both time and total tuition.
Post study options
Some graduates may be eligible to apply for a post study work visa. Eligibility and duration depend on the qualification and the rules in force at the time, and are set by Immigration New Zealand.
Work rights during study
Many student visa holders have limited part time work rights during study. The hours permitted are set by visa condition and change from time to time, so confirm the current rules before relying on them.
What we actually do for you
Admissions work, done properly. We are straight with you about whether your results, English scores and budget line up with the programmes you are considering, before you apply rather than after.
- Programme and institution shortlisting against your results and budget
- Admission applications and supporting documents
- Statement of purpose guidance in your own words
- English test requirements explained for each institution
- Financial documentation preparation
- A referral to the right people for the New Zealand visa itself
